Jim Stafford and Author J.R. Ripley to Hold Book Signing

Branson, MO - Branson's master of hilarious happenings, Jim Stafford, and author J.R. Ripley will be available to sign copies of Ripley's latest Tony Kozol mystery, "Bum Rap in Branson", on Saturday, April 24, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Bonniebrook Park. Stafford says about the murder mystery, "I love the way Ripley handles this topic. There's a murder but nobody gets hurt!"

Ripley (Glenn Meganck), is the author of the Tony Kozol mystery series and the Gendarme Charles Trenet series set on St. Barth, as well as other novels and the popular Jimmy Deal children's books. In "Bum Rap in Branson", characters Tony Kozol and Rock Bottom travel to Branson to play backup for folk artist Nanci Dement. While the characters are in Branson, they get tied up with crazed Kewpie doll collectors, celebrity Jim Stafford, and even a string of murders.

On Saturday, April 24, Bonniebrook will host its annual Open House and Tea from 1:00-4:00 PM. There will be complimentary tea and treats available for guests, a large display of local artwork, and free admission to tour the home of Rose O'Neill. Bonniebrook, known as the birthplace of the Kewpies, is located nine miles north of Branson off highway 65 and one mile east on Rose O'Neill road.

Stafford and Ripley will sign copies of "Bum Rap in Branson" from 1:00-2:00 PM, and books will be available for purchase on-site. The Bonniebrook Historical Society will also present honorary memberships to both Stafford and Ripley in appreciation of the awareness they have created for Bonniebrook and for Branson.

"We are extremely excited that these gentlemen are coming out to our open house and tea," says Susan Scott. "The way the author incorporates Bonniebrook into the story is so clever, and by presenting both men with honorary memberships, we want to let them know how much we appreciate the awareness they have created not only about Bonniebrook, but for the Branson community as a whole."
